Nagaland Tribes:-

Nagaland is a part of northeastern India. It is such a beautiful and cultured place. This state is predominantly mountains, lush green hills, dense forests, and rivers. This state is home to many tribes, and each has its traditions, culture, language, and festivals. Some tribes are- Ao, Konyak, Angami, Lotha, Sumi, and Chakhesang, etc. 

Nagamese is the language used by the local people of Nagaland but the official language of Nagaland is Indian English. There is also a famous tribal festival known as the Hornbill Festival. It is usually celebrated in the month of December. This festival is not only for tribes but also for tourists. In this festival, every tribe gets together and performs their traditional dance, and music and shows their authentic handicrafts.

 Each tribe has its festival too. That is usually related to agriculture.

Japfu Peak:- It’s the second-highest peak in Nagaland with a beautiful view.
Dimapur:-
It is the largest city in Nagaland. The famous food is Galho a vegan dish and Bamboo steamed fish which is a non-vegetarian dish.

Diezephe Craft Village:- it is known for its handicrafts and handloom products, where visitors can witness artisans at work.
Rangapahar Reserve forest:- A wildlife sanctuary home to many species of birds, animals, and flora.
Mokokchung:-
Mokokchung is also known as the intellectual and cultural capital of Nagaland. Tenga Patta which is the famous food here. It is not only delicious but also a nutritious vegan dish.
Mokokchung town:- The cultural and intellectual hub of the Ao tribe, with vibrant festivals and traditional houses.
Longkhum Village:- This village is known for its rhododendron forest and cultural significance in Ao folklore.
Mt. Sramati:-
Mountain Sramati is located on the Indian- Myanmar border, this is the first highest peak in Nagaland with a great view and is a popular trekking destination.
Khonoma:- 
This village is often described as a “warrior village”. This is the “first green village” in India. It is known for its sustainable practices and the historic Khonoma Fort, which played a significant role in resisting British colonial forces.

Permits:- You must get an Inner Line Permit (ILP) before entering Nagaland. It is required for travelers.
Cultural Respect:- You must respect the local customs, traditions, and dress codes.
Best time to visit:- You can visit Nagaland in October or May but I highly suggest you visit in December because this is the month when the Hornbill Festival is celebrated.
