Bangladesh’s students protest explained.

Bangladesh’s protests have been performed by the youths of Bangladesh. It has resulted in many deaths. And just a few weeks after the protest Bangaldesh’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, left the country on 5 August 2024. And now the protests have become a big issue.
The protest that has been happening in Bangladesh is because the youth of Bangladesh were dissatisfied with the government’s decision to reinstate a controversial quota system for civil service jobs.

This system reserves a significant percentage of government positions for descendants of freedom fighters who fought in Bangladesh’s 1971 liberation war. Many students say this is outdated and unfair to the rest of the students. This protest began in June 2024 and the government suddenly took action, resulting in a big matter.

The government involvement turned it into a violent protest which resulted in many deaths. The situation worsened, and the protest evolved into a broader anti-government movement, reflecting deeper frustrations with corruption, economic hardship, and the lack of democratic governance under Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina’s administration.

Now the situation has become worse. the government has started curfews and all the schools, colleges, and education institutions have been shut down the government has also sent forces, and tankers to handle everything but it just keeps getting worse. The government has also cut down the internet.

And this is not only the problem that is happening in Bangladesh. The religions that are minorities also have to face many troubles after Sheikh Hasina left the country. Christians, Buddhists, and Hindus had to face violence especially the Hindus. The Muslims of Bangladesh have gone out of control and have been destroying Hindu temples. and sexually harassing the Hindu women.

And this is all happening because many Hindus were in support of Sheikh Hasina’s party. This is why the Muslim youth started violence against the Hindus. The Hindus have become a big target. The Muslims looted Hindu houses and destroyed all the temples. Not only Hindus but all religions that are in minorities had to face the violence. Many churches and Buddhist temples were also destroyed. Many countries have been helping the minorities and many Hindus fled to India. The government is also trying to help and keep the minorities safe but it is just making the situation more tense.
